Obituary
Willis R. Bachtold, 95, Fairbury, died peacefully at 1:03 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorial offerings be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or OSF Hospice, Pontiac.
Mr. Bachtold was born April 23, 1918 in Cropsey, IL the son of William and Ida Alt Bachtold. He married Elsie E. Menold on February 16, 1947 in Peoria. She died on September 21, 2012.
Surviving are three sisters, Nettie Kyburz, Fairbury; Laura Kupferschmid, Eureka; Janita Koehl, Sterling, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Bachtold was a carpenter and had served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury
