Obituary

Wilma Jean Gaitens, 90, a resident of Livingston Manor, Pontiac and formerly of Fairbury died at 4:29 pm Friday, October 17, 2008 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac after a short illness.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield with Fr. Scott Archer officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the reciting of the rosary at 4:45 pm. The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of their choice.

Mrs. Gaitens was born September 28, 1918 in Strawn, IL the daughter of Daniel and Ida Pursley. She married Gregory G. Gaitens on February 15, 1947 in Strawn. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2007.

Surviving is a son William Gaitens, Bloomington.

She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Anderson, Dorothy Browne, and one brother, Donald Pursley.

Mrs. Gaitens was a 1937 graduate of Strawn High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury and past member of its Altar and Rosary Society.
