Wilma Schapmire, 96, Normal and formerly of Cooksville, died at 7:20 am on September 19, 2022 at Heritage Health, Normal.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.  Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday also at the Memorial Home with Pastor Wendell Wardell officiating.  Inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the Wilma Schapmire family.

Mrs. Schapmire was born March 17, 1926 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of David Guy and Claudia Myrtle McCoy Vawter.

Survivors include her children: Sue (Keith) Seibert, LeRoy; Angela Carter, Champaign; JoRita (Michael) Harms, Carlinville; Michael (Carol) Schapmire, Cooksville; and Melody Schuerman, Normal; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, one daughter and one great-great grandson.

Mrs. Schapmire was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington for 22 years.  She was a member of the Cooksville Union Church, President of the United Christian Workers, NTO Club and past member of the McLean County Farm Bureau and Home Extension.
