Colfax – Zelma Schleeter, 84, of Colfax, passed away at 3:48pm, March 4, 2015 at Advocate Bromenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. The Reverend Stephen Goodwin will be officiating.
Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation will be held from 4-6:00pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.
Zelma was born February 12, 1931 in Delavan, WI, the daughter of Charlie Leslie and Beulah Harris Davis.
She married Merlin Wayne Schleeter on June 11, 1950 in Anchor. He passed away March 30, 2002.
Surviving are his son, Bruce (Jenny) Schleeter of Colfax; grandchildren, Keith (Brandy) Schleeter and Krista (Rick) McKitrick; step-grandchild, Sherri (Matt) Bisbee; great-grandchildren, Jalen, Aubrey, Zack, Chandler, Grant, Jesse, Cash, Pierce, and Nola; sister-in-laws, Maude Schleeter of WI and Shirley Schleeter of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Shannon Schleeter, brother, Howard Davis and sister, Thora Herrli.
Zelma was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor.
She was an award winning Avon Sales Representative and ran a daycare out of her home for many years.
Zelma loved and lived her life for her family. She enjoyed cooking large meals for them all to enjoy. She also enjoyed sewing.
